Rezekne can be proud of its past but it should live in our times, thinking and taking care of the future – the children. It is thought more and more about them in the city on the seven hills.
Today Rezekne is the cultural and spiritual centre of Latgale and the second biggest city in the region, so everyone who desires knowledge can acquire it in the wide and well developed net of educational establishments. There are 11 preschool educational institutions in Rezekne. The further knowledge can be obtained in Catholic Elementary School, 6 comprehensive secondary schools, State Gymnasium, Polish Secondary School, Evening School and Speech Therapy Boarding School.
Children have opportunities to use their spare time appropriately, to develop the abilities as well as to reveal the skills attending the Pupils and Youth Sport School, Children Interest Centre, Youth Centre, Children Music School and Children Art School.
After the graduation of elementary schools or secondary schools the studies can be continued in Professional Secondary School and Vocational Secondary School no.14, Riga State Technical School Rezekne branch, State Border Guard College, Music School of Jānis Ivanovs and Art and Design Secondary School. The higher education can be obtained in Rezekne University, Baltic International Academy Rezekne branch.
