From ancient times it is known that Rezekne and Latgale is remarkable with their hospitality and desire to help the people, the bright example is the establishments run by Social care department. They give the social care and help to everyone – either small or big.

The solicitous staffs of “Orphanage” help the children and adolescents to fit in the daily routine successfully, but in the centre “The Especial Child” the staffs caress and take care of every child with special needs. The staffs of “Family Centre” knowingly listen to and give the support to the visitors whose mind is downhearted by the problems and the life seems to be gloomy and grey. But elderly people can attend the groups of interest in “Retiree Day Centre” doing physical and mental practices. The disabled people are helped in their every-day works by the self-abnegation and reliability of social workers of “Sector of Care at Home”, and “Retiree Social Care Centre” provides with the dwelling place, and food, and offers social services to retirees and disabled people of 1st and 2nd groups. The place to sleep and the food is offered to persons without the dwelling place at “Night Asylum”.
